Riding in the Snow

The guys had a great time at Blackspur last weekend, riding in the snow. Ryan (Gray's son-in-law) went along for the ride :-)

ONE MORE THING

Ow yeah, forgot to say I spent 3 days in a caravan at Rawson last week. It was a great time of seeking GOD and riding some great bush tracks. Heaps of burned out forest, which was quite weird to ride through. The bush fires out here had been really bad, and the men and women who battled them are real heros.
Came down Mormontown tk at 64kms. Not bad, so I walked the bike back up and this time topped out at 74. You beauty. See all later DW.

WHAT I DID LAST WEEKEND

Hi all, well last sat.3rd, decided to go for a drive out to Marondah dam for a ride. Stopped at the main dam carpark, and hopped onto the Norco Fluid. Headed up and over the dam wall and off along the track to the start of Mt Monda trail. Its a 9km length venture up to track 12. The first 5kms were ok, well uphill but easy surface to ride on, untill I got to the end of the main section and had to start on the narrow walking track. Damm this quickly stopped being a ride and turned into a 4k drag. How many times did I want to give up. But Im made of tuffer stuff than this. The sweat was just pouring off me. It ended up a bike drag, push, carry, throwing adventure. I didnt really throw my bike, but Im sure glad I had the Fluid and not the GT. Praise GOD, that was the hardest thing I have done since cutting my Jons umbilical cord.( Now that was hard). The Fluid climbs like a sherpa on steroids. But unfortunatly the track turned into the steep side of K2. Got to the top without a single leech on me, Yahoo. Then it was a 7k gravel treck across from Mt Monda, and up to the top of Mt Saintleonards. Great veiw from the lookout tower. Gave Graham a call and said the veiw was that good I could see him at his study window. Only 60ks away. Um....a joke....hee..he.
Quick ride down to Donnellys weir, and along the aquaduct, up over another hill, across the dam wall, and airborne down the rose steps.
It was a great day out, but I was stuffed.
Praise GOD see you all soon. Dave W.

Um where have I been

Well its been quite a long time since my last blog thing. I will forget some of the stuff that has happened but such is life.
My oldest boy, Ben, got married to the most beautiful Angela. Who just happens to be the youngest of Graham and Kathies. Isnt it a strange world. It was the most fantastic wedding. On a boat at the docklands in Melbourne. The guys looked so great, and my most terrific wife did the ceremony. Yahoo.
I finaly got a new bike top. No longer yellow, but No fear red. You know these things have just got to be washed or else they start to create their own ecosystem. Phew.
Been riding a bit at the You Yangs. This place rocks so goooood. Great flatland with jumps and skinnies and see saws. Plus a hill section, with all levels of downhill.
Been sort of quiet at home as my baby Jon has finished school, and is out with his mates having fun, plus doing more work at KFC.
So it sort of an empty nest at home. Ow well. Time to move on to the next phase of life in the things of God. (Sure hope it involves bikes).
Went to the Black Spur last saturday. So humid. Got soaked through with sweat. Graham and Joel and myself dragged our sorry butts up the 10 kms, then flew down. Top of 67. Good one.
Well thats it for now. Will blog you soon.Till then GOD BLESS YOU. Dave W.
